The mission of Healthy Family Partnerships is to ensure that every child is born healthy and enters school ready to learn. Services include, home visiting, parenting classes, parenting newsletters, parenting resource centers, playgroups, and information about community resources. The Y.H. Thomas Community Center is an extraordinary example of partnership between citizens and government, the former school, now community center, is now used to address the recreational, educational, and cultural needs of the community. Youth-Community Oriented Policing Effort is a successful partnership between police, non-profit agencies, neighborhood organizations, and youth, designed to explore and expel the stereotypes and attitudes that are barriers to cooperative interaction between youth and police in the community.
