Stamford's Community Policing strategy is a comprehensive approach to public safety relying on building partnerships as it builds on decentralized deployment of patrol officers through fixed neighborhood beats and local substations. Rippowam Park, a unique public/private redevelopment project, transformed the Ward Homes, a once deteriorating neighborhood, to a fully diverse and thriving community occupied by moderate- and low-income tenants. The Stamford School Readiness Program (SSRP) provides over 450 three and four year olds from families in Stamford at all economic levels with full-day, part-day, and extended-day early care and education programs.
