The Ed Bohrer Parent Resource Center is a community center for families
needing assistance with parenting skills and the resources to help their children
thrive in the community. The parent resource center offers an array of social
and educational services to enable parents to support their children and improve
their own self-efficiency. The Wells/Robertson House Homeless Program
is a model program that meets the challenges of homelessness as it gives people
the opportunity to gain jobs, skills, pay off debts, save money, regain a sense
of living with others in a responsible way, build a sense of self-esteem, and
become part of a community as that transition to clean and sober, stable, independent
living is made more smoothly. Ninos Unidos serves disadvantaged youth
who are at risk of not finishing their education by providing tutoring, mentoring,
parental training and more to help them build confidence, develop character
and acquire the needed skills to grow into productive civic-minded, responsible
adults.
