The Building Bridges for Economic Development project has: strengthened partnerships and commitments; obtained affordable investment capital; developed an Industrial Park; provided information about available resources; and improved the technological infrastructure system. Bridging Troubled Waters through Mitigation, a plan to protect the community from future flood events, includes information such as: removing repetitive loss structures from the floodplain; constructing a new bridge that could be utilized during flood events; developing and implementing a flood warning system; and educating every individual about ways to protect themselves and property during a disaster. Bridging Communities and Youth increased the number and types of recreational and educational opportunities available to young people in the community. A concerted effort by the community and its citizens to offer youth more opportunities to get involved prompted concerned citizens to provide facilities and programs for them.
